  • Carp Shoot - May 19, 2012 - Lake Osakis---7AM-1PM---$75.00 per 2-3 person team - First place team receives $500.00 based upon 20 teams entered - Register at Osakis VFW May 18, 6-8 PM - Contact Gordy Berthiume with questions—320-859-5388

  • Road clean-up - May 3 or 10 - 6PM at VFW

  • Docks to be put into Lake Osakis - Battle Point Access and North Hill Access - Weather will determine dates and times

  • Wild Game Feed - Sat. April 21, 2012 at VFW  Social Hour, 5-6  Eat-7PM

Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM at Osakis VFW. 19 members present. Secretary's and treasurer's reports approved.

  • OLD BUS:
    • Carp Shoot---May 19, 2012
      • Lake Osakis---7AM-1PM---$75.00 per 2-3 person team
      • First place team receives $500.00 based upon 20 teams entered
      • Register at Osakis VFW May 18, 6-8 PM
      • Contact Gordy Berthiume with questions—320-859-5388
    • Parades: Club will have a float at Osakis and West Union parades

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Road clean-up May 3 or 10 6PM at VFW.  George Abelseth to head up the event—we work with the Cub Scouts
  • Docks to be put into Lake Osakis.  Battle Point Access and North Hill Access.  Weather will determine dates and times
  • Fish pier for Battle Point area---being repaired and will be installed this summer. Volunteers will help Todd County Parks install
  • Trap team to be sponsored again this summer--$100.00 sponsor fee 2011 team took First Place in their league at Alex. Shooting Park
  • Sportsmen Club will assist Osakis LK Ass'n with Walleye Fever raffle ticket sales. Proceeds to purchase walleye fingerlings to stock Lk Osakis
  • Wild Game Feed-Sat. April 21, 2012 at VFW Social Hour, 5-6 Eat-7PM
  • Will donate $250.00 for DU Banquet—same as last year
  • Beaver and dam were removed from Boss Creek. Walleyes can spawn under Battle Point Road if they choose!
  • Secretary of State's office notified us we are registered as Non-Profit
  • Dave Spartz to purchase more plywood to have available for youth building Blue Bird houses in the Park again during Osakis Festival
  • WEB SITE Secretary to email minutes to Craig Cody to be put on the Site. Send club events or pictures thru President Gordy to the site.
Meeting adjourned at 8:11 PM. $10 Door prize to Gary Boller-donated back to Club

We had another successful year in 2011 and welcomed many new memebers.  Our activities included the following:

  • Repaired the dock at Battle Point
  • Fixed the Boss Creek bridge
  • Volunteered for road clean-up 2 times yearly
  • Won first place with our trap team
  • Put up bird houses at Battle Point park
  • Raised $1000 for scholorships
  • Participated in the Osakis parade
  • Supported high school archery
  • Donated $560 for walley fingerlings

Osakis Sportsman’s Club 2010 Activities PDF Print E-mail

The following are just some of the achievements of the Osakis Sportsmen's Club in 2010:
  • Donated $500 to Osakis High School for our annual scholarship program
  • Sponsored Trap Team at Alexandria shooting park
  • Built bluebird houses in the park with the youth.
  • Built birdhouses for wood ducks and bluebirds
  • Participated with our float in parades in Osakis and West Union
  • Made a $300 donation to Ducks Unlimited
  • Held our annual Corn & Hotdog feed at Osakis VFW
  • Donated an additional $500 donation for archery programs at school
  • Pledged $500 to put in fishing pier on Lake Osakis
  • Installed and maintained boat dock at Battle Point
  • Coordinated our semi-annual road ditch cleanup with local cub scouts
  • Donated two .22 rifles and one youth .22 rifle to youth firearm safety program
  • Assisted with Battle Point restoration project
